The Waynesville Gallery Association is committed to preserving and accentuating the rich cultural heritage of the Western North Carolina Mountains, and the thriving arts community of Haywood County.  Our group, a fellowship of eleven professional galleries/studios seeks to create opportunities for artists to interact with the public, partly through our event, Art After Dark. The gallery stroll takes place on the first Friday night during the months of May – December.

Waynesville is a walkable town, with brick lined sidewalks under a canopy of trees. The streets are filled with unique specialty shops, art galleries, working studios, independent bookstores, and a variety of award winning restaurants. At once Historic and contemporary, Waynesville is home to a vibrant art community. Head south on Main St. to discover neighboring Hazelwood. With charming boutiques, artist studio’s and coffee shops, Hazelwood is filled with southern kindness and big city flair. There are numerous festivals and events throughout the year that keep Waynesville full of life and laughter, as well as monthly Mountain Street Dances‘ during the summer. “Block parties” on Main St. feature children’s activities, creating an atmosphere for the whole family. Look on our website for a listing of upcoming events. Come discover the art & culture of our mountains here in Western North Carolina!
